you should get a C foot. The B foot has an extra key. Band directors don’t usually give out music to flutes with the note the B foot plays. Some good brands are yamaha, gemeinhardt, armstrong. also you need to buy closed holes. The open holes has holes in most keys and its harder to play. hope your daughter loves the flute! its really fun to play.
For a beginner, get a c foot. B foot is for more intermediate players. The difference is that b foot has an extra key to play lower notes. I say C foot, your daughter won’t be needing that key right now.
Get a C foot. A B foot is for intermediate players. im in high school and i’ve never needed a B foot.
C foot, closed hole. B foots add extra weight and can be a bit cumbersome for beginners, and although open holes can be plugged, the flute doesn’t resonate quite right with them plugged, and she may find them frustrating. Most B foots have open holes standard, and most C foots come standard with closed holes.
I agree with the other answers. I’ve been playing flute for almost 5 years and I started with C foot joint and a closed hole flute. Once she gets really dedicated to playing the flute, I recommend getting her an intermediate flute with open holes and a B foot.
