If possible, give me brands and models. Please only answer if you have some kind of expertise. Thanks

The two best student models are probably Trevor James and Pearl. Armstrong and Gemeinhardt used to make altos and they’re OK, but their intonation isn’t as good as the more modern TJ & Pearl. If you’re willing to spend a little more money, you can look at Dimedici, Yamaha, Dean Yang, Muramatsu, Miyazawa, etc. The best place to check prices of what’s available and to compare the features of different brands would be fluteworld.com.
